Pauline Stanley Obituary

Long time Taft resident, Pauline Stanley, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Pauline was born to Paul Newborn and Bertha Horton in Fillmore, CA. She moved to Taft for a few years at the age of 14, and met her future husband, Russell Stanley. She later returned to Taft where she lived for 82 years. Pauline and Russell were married for 59 years until his death in 1995.

Pauline was employed by Safeway for 25 years where she worked as a clerk. During her free time, she enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, and cryptogram puzzles which she was still solving up to a week before her passing. Pauline was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Lawrence of Kernville, CA; her daughter Eileen of Taft, CA; Three grandchildren, Catherine and her husband Roger of Rosamond, CA; Russell of Tehachapi, CA; Stephen of Tehachapi, CA; and her sister Ruth Bowen of Huntington Beach, CA. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Her family would like to extend a big thank-you to our Optimal hospice ladies; Phyllis, Kim and Lori for their wonderful help and support these last few months.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 27 10:00 am at the West Side District Cemetery under the direction of Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
