Robert Kintner Obituary

Robert Perry Kintner, 70, departed this life on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Bakersfield, CA after a battle with cancer.

Bob, as his family called him, was born on October 18, 1947 in Taft, CA. He attended Taft High School and Taft College. He studied to become a draftsman and later went to work for Getty Oil, which later became Texaco, where he retired in the mid 90′s.

He was joined in holy matrimony to his beloved, Linda Kay Kintner, on August 22, 1969. They had 2 children, Robin and Perry.

Bob was an avid ham radio operator. He had a fine collection of modern and vintage radio equipment which he used to contact his friends all over the country. He also loved to work on cars or anything with a small engine.

Bob cherished his grandchildren and loved nothing more than to spend time with them. He liked to cook with his granddaughter Jordyn, and if they needed something quick, they could often be seen riding power chairs down to the corner store to grab it. He would love when Devan, his grandson, would come over to change his oil or to use his tools to work on his truck. Bob would help with the repairs or just sit out there and enjoy the company. He and his granddaughter Makayla liked to enjoy ice cream and cookies together. Bob and his grandson Donovan liked to sit around and talk while cleaning Bob’s guns.

Bob was not one to know a stranger. He loved to talk and would start a conversation with anybody and make them feel like they had been friends forever.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert Allen Kintner and Hazel Grace Kintner.

Bob Kintner leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Linda Kintner, his son Perry Kintner, his daughter Robin Turner and her husband Jason Turner, his beloved grandchildren Devan Turner, Jordyn Turner, Makayla Kintner and Donovan Kintner, his brother Kenny Kintner and his wife Melissa Kintner, his sister Sonja Spell and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

Bob touched many people’s lives and left behind many fond memories for us to remember. Although we won’t be able to see him anymore he will always be by our sides in everything we do. He will never be forgotten and will always have a place in our hearts.  A viewing will be held Sunday March 18, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Erickson and Brown Funeral Home, 501 Lucard St Taft, California and a Graveside Service will be held Monday March 19, 2018 at 11:30 am at West Side District Cemetery, 440 E Cedar St, Taft, California.
