Barbara Gail Merrill

A graveside funeral service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. for Barbara Gail Merrill, 75. Barbara was born to Arthur Hugh and Reba Genevieve Campbell in Bakersfield, CA on July 1, 1940. She grew up and attended schools in McFarland, CA. She moved to Taft in the mid 1960s and met and married Virgil Ray Merrill in December 1970. She was employed by Taft National Bank for 25 - 30 years before retiring. Barbara was a wonderful homemaker and had the art of bringing people together with a real love for family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dale Campbell; her brothers-in-law, Lemuel Lefler and Bill Rowson; and her nephews, Randall Lefler and Kevin Rowson. Her survivors include her husband of over 45 years, Virgil Merrill; sisters, Beth Lefler and Jan Rowson; her brother, Jerry Campbell (Karen); her children, Keith Moore (Mary) of Winston, Oregon, Kristen Brodie of Carson City, Nevada, Marc Merrill (Ginny), and Traci Merrill; her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews, whom she all loved dearly. There are no visitation hours scheduled. John 14:3 I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
