Bettie Teel

A graveside funeral service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Monday, February 8, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. for longtime Taft resident, Bettie Teel, 89. Mrs. Teel was born in Taft on September 24, 1926 and passed away in Arvin on February 3, 2016. She was raised in Fellows and graduated from Taft Union High school. She worked in the automotive industry for many years as a parts runner for the Chevy dealership. Her interests included camping and traveling with her sister and other family members. She also enjoyed baking cookies, pies and many other goodies. She could frequently be seen walking her dog on the trail. She made a life commitment to her faith and church, the First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bessie Wagner; husband, Barney Teel; and brothers, Bob Wagner and John Wagner. Mrs. Teel is survived by her son and his wife, Rob and Janie Teel, of Maricopa; her grandchildren, Earlene and Marty Hutchins of Bakersfield and Robert Teel, Jr. of Maricopa; her great-grandchildren and spouses, Shawn and Rachelle Hutchins, Robert Hutchins, Michael and Kim Hutchins, Jamie and Joey Tennelli all of Taft, Dylan and Ashley Teel and Annie and Adam Arndt of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Camren and Erica Teel of Maricopa; 25 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Gaylan Leaf; sister-in-law, Corene Wagner; her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Donna Wagner; and many nieces and nephews. There are no visitation hours scheduled.
