Services will be held at Erickson and Brown Funeral Home Chapel, 501 Lucard St, Taft, California on Saturday, May 28th at 10:00am. With a reception immediately following at the Edwards residence located at 211 Suzanne Lane in Taft. Betty was born in Bakersfield, CA on October 21, 1953 and passed away in her home on May 21, 2016. She attended Taft City Schools and Taft Union High School. She loved living in Taft and enjoyed raising her family here. She worked as a Shift Manager at McDonalds for 10 years and loved and took pride in her job and enjoyed seeing her regular customers and considered them her extended family. She was a women of great faith in God and lived her life in a way that brought happiness and love to herself and those around her. Betty was always looked to for her sage advice, loving and caring guidance and wisdom, she never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed going to the beach in the fifth wheel for the annual car show trip with her husband, children, grandchildren and family. She loved watching NASCAR, Steelers Football and her favorite stories on TV. She loved any minute that she got to see her grandchildren and family and loved and looked forward to family dinners and BBQ's. Betty had many special friends that she would love to sit and visit with for hours. She is survived by her dedicated and loyal husband of 34 years Rusty Edwards, daughter Sherri LeGoff and son-in-law Didier LeGoff and Grandson Stephen Saunders. Daughter Kristy Edwards, grandson Ruben Aguirre and granddaughter Sophia Aguirre. Step-son Rusty Ned Edwards and girlfriend Olivia Soto. Step-daughter Veronica Gillium and son-in-law Johnny Gillium and grandsons Sean, Jonathan and Tyler Gillium. Grandson Christopher Dean and Granddaughter Melissa Dean. Sister Tammy Hill and brother-in-law Wilbert Hill. Brother Patrick Loughridge and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and life-long friends. She is preceded in death by her Mother Celie Ann Kokkonen, Grandmother and Grandfather Betty and Oscar Moran, and Son Larry Dean. During the process of transition into her eternal life with God and family who has passed before her she resided at home and was surrounded by family and friends. She received loving, compassionate and tender care from her niece's Donna and Stephanie Dean and the wonderful and helpful RNs and Care Givers from Gentiva Hospice of Bakersfield. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to Gentiva Hospice of Bakersfield. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home
