Brenda Sue Holt

Brenda Holt entered this world on January 3, 1945 in Success, AR. After a brief illness, she went to glory while surrounded by her loving family on September 20, 2016 in Bakersfield, CA.

She came to Fellows, CA when she was three years old in 1948, and then lived in Taft, CA for most of her life. On December 5, 1960, she married Gean Holt, the love of her life for 41 years before he passed in 2001. She was a lifelong homemaker.

Brenda enjoyed shopping at the American Girl store, long conversations with her granddaughter and sewing matching outfits for her granddaughter's dolls. Brenda was an avid reader and loved her pets.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Lee Adams; her husband, Gean Holt, and her nephew, David Doughty.

She is survived by her son, Troy (Michelle) Holt and granddaughter, Nicole Holt of Davis, CA; her mother, Margaret Adams of Taft, CA; sisters, Beverly (Bob) Doughty of Bakersfield, CA and Peggy (Gene) Saffle of Taft, CA; brothers, David (Myra) Adams of Waco, TX, Ron (Terri) Adams of Bliss, ID; and seven nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society of the United States (http://www.humanesociety.org/).
