Britt Grissom

Britt Allen Grissom, 30, of Taft went to be with the Lord the morning of February 19, 2016. His final days were spent surrounded by his family and loved ones in the comfort of his home. A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m at the West Side District Cemetery in Taft, CA. Britt was born February 15, 1986 in Bakersfield, CA, and spent his entire life living in Kern County. Britt loved being outside, but took special interest in hunting and racing anything with wheels. Though he had many hobbies, nothing was more important to Britt than family! This is especially true for his "little hotrod" Raycen, for whom he loved more than life. Though his life seems too short to many, those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Britt never failed to provide a smile or laugh to anyone that saw him, and made sure to live each day to the fullest. Britt was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Dee and Leeta Stoops; great grandma, Zuva Hopkins Rose; grandma, Mary Jane Ornelas, and best friends and brothers by love "JC" James Charles Chitwood and Jacob Anthony Foust. Britt is survived by his loving wife, Lenora and baby girl, Raycen; parents, Donald and Michelle Grissom; mother and father-in-law, James and Lynda Copeland; sister and spouse, Kayla and Dylan Niblett; sister and boyfriend Faynalee "Jordyn" Grissom and Rigo Nuno; Brother- in-law and spouse, Josh and Kaitie DeRuchie; nieces and nephew, Brystal and Rig Niblett, and Alyssa, Kielei and Ellie DeRuchie; grandparents, Carrie "pops" and Faynalee "Jo" Grissom; grandpa, Gregory Fullmer, and grandpa, Richard Ornelas; aunts and uncles, Rick and Shawna Grissom, Charee and John Iturriria, Jolene and Butch Dunham, and Buck Ornelas; cousins, Lee Stoops, Kyle Grissom, Kerrin Copeland, Shawn Gray, Kelsie Dunham, Halli Grissom, Alex Iturriria; and numerous friends. There are no visitation hours scheduled and the arrangements are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
