Carl Mallory Obituary
Carl Mallory passed away peacefully at his home in Taft on June 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Lee Mallory, his two brothers, Charles and Ed, his ex-wife Beth, and step-son Brian Noland. He is survived by his brother Doug and his wife Carol, his sons, Baxter (and wife, Julie) and Aaron, his grandchildren AJ and Evan, as well as his step-children, Sean Noland and April Gleed, his grandchildren Trinity, Collin, Lily, Alex, Ella. And Ray Noland, his life partner of 31 years.
Carl was born in Bakersfield and grew up in Taft. He graduated from Taft Union High School in 1961, and went on to serve with the Peace Corps for two years after graduation. He was stationed in Colombia. Upon his return, he worked as a bookkeeper for the M.H. Whittier Corporation, retiring from there after 26 years of service. For many years after his official retirement he worked as an instructor at Taft College.
Over the years, he and Ray traveled extensively, particularly to their time-share in Mexico. He also formed an association with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Taft, where he served faithfully as a devoted servant to the end of his life. He found there great pleasure in helping others.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Friday June 18, at 2pm at St. Andrews (703 5th St, Taft, CA 93268).
You may honor his memory with a donation in Carl's name to a Cancer research charity of your choosing, the Shar-On Corporation or St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Taft. He would really have appreciated that!
Interment will be at Westside District Cemetery.
