1950 – 2020
Denver Dwayne Cook, was born in Checotah, Oklahoma to parents Johnny Cook, Sr. and Helen Louise Chandler Cook on April 30, 1950. He passed away on January 3, 2020 in Bakersfield, California.
Denver was a welder for over 50 years. He loved dancing, playing the drums and spending time with his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny Cook Sr. and Helen Cook, his brothers Johnny Cook, Jr. and David Cook. He is survived by his wife, Julie Cook; his children Sonjua Grean, Angie Johnson, Christie Romero, Lance Stephens, Amanda Apperson, Lissa Steele, Johna Apperson and James Waites; his sister Brenda Davis and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services for Denver will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 with a viewing from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home 501 Lucard Street in Taft. Followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at the West Side District Cemetery 440 E. Cedar Street in Taft.
