Edwin Leroy Roady

Edwin Leroy Roady was born on March 19th, 1942 in Jerseyville, Illinois to parents Pearl Roady and Effie (Wandrei) Roady. Edwin was the second youngest of 5. He enjoyed camping and fishing and overall just being outdoors. In 1959 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam, Cuba, Berlin, and the Haiti Crises. Edwin was very proud of his years in the Navy especially his time served during the Cold War. He was married March 17th, 1962 to Ruby Levie for 39 years until her passing in 2001. They moved to California in 1962 and he began working in the oil-fields. He spent 30 years working for a couple different oil companies, that including Arco. In the late 90’s he began working as an independent contractor responding to different oil-field related problems in the area until he retired. He fell ill during 2020 and passed away at the VA Hospital in Fresno, California on June 28th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Effie, his wife, Ruby, his older brother Howard, and his younger sister Frances. He is survived by his older sister Hilda, his older brother Philip and his wife Deanne, and his sister-in-law Pam. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
