Eric Scott Abney

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our treasured Eric Scott Abney. He was born on October 9th, 1977 in Taft and departed on June 30, 2022 in Bakersfield. Eric worked in the oil fields for the majority of his life. He spent his time off making lasting memories with his family and friends and playing video games. Anyone who knew Eric knew he was a gamer and never went anywhere without his PlayStation or Xbox! Eric also loved riding motorcycles, bumping loud music in his trucks, the Atlanta Falcons (of course), and building model trucks. Eric is preceded by his father Melvin Ray Abney Sr. Eric will forever be loved and missed. He will live on through his loved ones. He is survived by the many friends and family who loved him greatly including his children Cadence Reigh Abney, Eric Scott Abney Jr., Bryson Ray Wise, mother Mollie Louise Raunsavall, brothers and sisters Melvin Ray Abney Jr. ( Kendra Leupold Abney, sister-in-law) Sonya Kim Bishop (Fred Bishop, brother-in-law) Kimberly Ann Abney, and other family members including nieces and nephews Alyssa Abney, Dawson Abney, Savanah Buffana, Jessica Nation, Nichole Hiracheta, Shawn Chapman, and Mason Chapman. Memorial services will be held on July 15th, 2022 by Erickson and Brown Funeral Home.
