Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery in Taft on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. for Evelyn "Evie" Stanfill, 76. Rev, Larry Moxley will officiate. A celebration of her life following the service will be held at Jo's Restaurant. Mrs. Stanfill was born to the late William and Sarah Bartel in Miss Frizzies Maternity Home on March 22, 1940 and passed away in Bakersfield on August 10, 2016. She and her husband, Gary, enjoyed traveling and did so all across the United States. They also enjoyed their trips together to Europe, Russia, Japan, Ireland, Canada and Hawaii. When not traveling, she enjoyed spending time at their home in Bass Lake. Mrs. Stanfill received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship awarded to her by Rotary International. She and Gary were members of the Bakersfield Model "A" Club and the T-Bird Club. Her survivors include her husband of 58 years, Gary Lee Stanfill; two daughters and their husbands, Felecia and Ulie Thiersch and Patricia and Robert Nolen; her grandson and the light of her life, William Gary Thiersch; her adopted children, Bud Leedy and Teresa Cohen; and by her favorite dog, Sam. Gary and the family would like to extend a special thank you to their angel on earth, Evie's care giver, Deborah Hall, for taking such good care of her.
