A graveside funeral service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. for Frank Lee Banner, 91. Frank was born in Hotchkiss, Colorado on May 28, 1925 to Frank and Artie Banner and passed away in Taft, CA on September 26, 2016. He was a WW II vet and very proud of his service to his country. Frank was an avid fisherman and loved going fishing in Alaska every year with his son and best friend, Steve. Frank had been a resident of Taft since 1967. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Audra Banner. They leave behind their son, Steve Banner and his wife, Susan; daughter, Lee Ann Dixon and her partner, Rick Smith all of Taft; as well as grandchildren, Joe and Jennifer Banner of Wyoming, Jennifer and Jason Ferche of Minnesota, Lisa Banner, Robert Dixon and his partner, Wendi Carrol, Aaron Dixon, Denise Cater and her partner, Lonny Rogers, PJ and Mark Nichols all of Taft, Kyle and Alessa Stewart of Bakersfield and Danny Cater of Palm Springs, CA; as well as 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering at the Moose Lodge following the service. There are no visitation hours scheduled.
