Graveside services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery in Taft Ca. on Friday, March 3rd at 1:00 pm for Gary Lee Stanfill, 86. Gary was born to the late Rube and Cecil Stanfill in Popular Bluff, Missouri on December 24, 1936, and passed away in Bakersfield Ca. on February 16, 2023. Gary lived in Missouri until 1943, where he was diagnosed with rheumatic fever. His parents made the decision to move to California for his health. Gary met his late wife, Evie Bartel in Bakersfield and was married in 1959. He and Evie purchased Mobile Equipment Company in 1976 where he was president until 2022 when he closed the business. Gary enjoyed traveling with his wife and they did so both, nationally and internationally. When not traveling, Gary and his wife enjoyed spending time at their second home in Bass Lake. Both were also members of the Bakersfield Model "A" Club and the T-Bird Club along with various other clubs Gary was also a proud member of East Bakersfield Rotary Club for more than 44 years. Survivors include his two daughters, Felecia (Ulli) Thiersch of Broken Arrow, OK, and Pati (Robert) Nolen of Manton, CA; and his only grandchild, William Thiersch of Sebastopol, CA.
A celebration of his life following the service will be held at Hodels Country Restaurant, 5917 Knudson Drive, Bakersfield, California. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County.
