A funeral service will be held in the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. for longtime Taft resident, Harry Dale Wilson, 94. Rev. Trent Meadors, pastor of Taft First Assembly of God, will officiate and burial will follow in the West Side District Cemetery Mausoleum. Harry was born in Taft, CA on December 13, 1921 and passed away in Bakersfield, CA on September 10, 2016. He was a member of the U.S. Army and served during WW II from February 17, 1945 to November 4, 1946. His second tour of duty was served during the Korean Conflict from September 18, 1950 to April 11, 1952 when he was honorably discharged from military service. He retired from ARCO after 30 years of employment. Harry enjoyed traveling, reading and truly cared for others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Beulah Wilson and his loving Uncle Bill and Aunt Opal Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's charity of choice in Harry's name. Special thanks to the staff at The Village at Seven Oaks. Viewing will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
