Graveside services will be held on June 11, at Westside Cemetery in Taft, CA. at 10:00 am for Imogene Frances Scarborough. Reverend Tom White will officiate the services. Imogene was born December 27, 1932 in Seminole, Oklahoma and left us on June 6, 2016 in Bakersfield California. She attended Maricopa High School and Taft College. Imogene was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and business owner. After working in the drive in industry for many years she and her husband Clyde built and opened the Dari Delite Drive In, where Imogene hired many high school and college students for their first work endeavor. In 1976 she and Clyde moved to Alaska, for one of the great adventures of their lives. Imogene was a past member of the Taft Emblem Club. Her love of cooking provided her many friends and family with wonderful meals and hours of enjoyment. Many will miss sitting down for Imo's fried okra. She also had a great appetite for reading and greatly enjoyed sharing her vast library with friends and family. Imogene loved the art of hooking rugs and freely shared her finished projects with family. Her love of travel took her and Clyde to explore all of the 50 states where many lasting friendships were made which continued through her lifetime. After Clyde passed away, Imogene bought a summer home at Pismo Beach. She spent many enjoyable hours with her sisters and friends at Pismo Beach while she enjoyed all that life at the coast had to offer. Imogene was predeceased in death by her parents Albert "Tiny" and Oma Sullivan, brother Glen "Buck" Sullivan, sister Joanne Newsom and the great love of her life Clyde Scarborough. She is survived by her sisters Jacqueline Faulkner, Patricia and Don Sheldon, and sisters- in-law Jean Scarborough, and Gay Scarborough. She is also survived by her four children son Steve and Allison Scarborough, daughters Claudia and Chuck Stein, Cindy Hill and Allen Mullen, and Susan Myrick. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank San Joaquin Hospital ICU staff for their support and help. In addition a big thanks to Erickson and Brown for their handling and care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Imogene's name.
