James (Jim/Jimmy) Brian Graupman was born in Taft. He was the youngest in a family of 9 children. Jim originally worked as an oilfield roustabout and then went on to work as a power lineman for over 17 years. He worked for a number of electrical contractors, but most of his time was with Braun Electric. He was very good at what he did and was very well-liked by his employers and co-workers. He built many long-lasting relationships in the industry. He also mentored many young up-and-coming apprentices. After ending his work career due to a disability, he continued living in Taft until his sudden death on September 3 at the age of 58. Jim was very kind-hearted, generous and a good friend of many people through the years and will be missed by them all. He will also be sadly missed by his surviving siblings Gary, Sally, Janet and Phillip, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews including Tom and Mike Mayfield of Taft. He was predeceased by his parents John and Betty Graupman and siblings Eileen, John, Joyce and Lois.
The family plans a celebration of his life at a later date once family, friends and co-workers can come together safely.
