Born in Bakersfield on August 20,1988 to Mark and Rebekah Gunter. Passed away in Bakersfield on September 8, 2018. Kate graduated from Taft Union High school, class of 2006. She worked as a Medical Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant. Kate has always been a caregiver at heart. She loved “her people.” Cooking, baking, and cake decorating made her happy and she excelled at it. She put her heart into her food and loved sharing her recipes with others. There is so much more to our Katie-Bug, more than words can describe.

Kate is preceded in death by: her husband, Derrick Vanderford, her grandmothers, Jeanette Gunter & Wilma Dubbers, her grandfather, Bob Dubbers, and her Papa, Al Beaty.

Kate is survived by her Father and Mother, Mark & Rebekah Gunter, her Grandfather, Billy Gunter, her sisters Erin (Chaney) Burris & Megan (Chad) Crane, and The love of her life, Aaron Gann.

Her niece, Marley Crane & nephews, Alden Sawyer Crane & Logan Burris. Her cousins: Ian Gunter, Hali Reed, Kersti Maharrey, Tanner Emerson, Cassie Jackson, Miranda Mayfield, Shiloh Vance, Nikita Milhous, Josh Barnes, Jen Baker, Joseph Fitzsimmons, Gage Gunter, Coston Gunter, Noah Gunter, Matt Halcomb, Tabitha Stader, Ami Martin, Bethany Fitzsimmons, Cody Mace, Justin Pence, Brian Fitzsimmons, Kenny Fitzsimmons and their families.
