Larry was born on June 22, 1946 in Fort Smith, AR to Newell and Faye Bonner. After battling lung cancer, Larry passed away peacefully at this home in Camarillo, CA one day after his 70th birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Claude Eston Bonner and great-niece Shaye Fields, all of Taft, CA. He is survived by his wife, Denise Bonner of Camarillo; his sisters, Margie Schey, Glenda Thurman and Pat (Claude) Bonner, all of Taft; his daughter Dawn (Brian) Carroll of San Jose, CA; his stepdaughter, Sandra (Roland) Bastian of Santa Rosa Valley, CA; his stepson Michael Tapp of Hermosa Beach, CA; his grandchildren Sean & Jessica Carroll, Brooke Bastian and many nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives. Larry grew up in Taft, attended local schools and graduated from Taft Union High School in 1964. He worked for the Southern California Gas Company for 32 years, accepting positions that moved him around the state where he finished his career as the construction superintendent in Newhall, CA. In their retirement, Larry and Denise built a home in Red Bluff, CA along the Sacramento River. Larry enjoyed fishing, square dancing, vacationing in Las Vegas and attending comedy shows. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 10:00 A.M., at the West Side District Cemetery, located at 440 E. Cedar St., Taft, CA. There will be a viewing on July 4th from 4:00-6:00pm, at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home located at 501 Lucard St, Taft, CA. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Larry's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
