Michael D. Sparks

A memorial service will be held in the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. for Taft native, Michael D. Sparks, 60. Mr. Sparks was born in Taft on December 8, 1955 and passed away in Bakersfield on January 30, 2016. He was raised and educated in Taft and graduated from Taft Union High School. He had been employed by Exxon Mobil for over 30 years. He started as a backhoe operator and for the last seven years he worked in San Ardo as a Unit Train Coordinator/Measurement Specialist. Mr. Sparks is survived by his wife, Chris Sparks of Paso Robles; his son, Mike Sparks; his two daughters, Ashley Sparks and Cassie Sparks; daughter of his heart, Nadene Brenner all of Paso Robles; his step-daughter and her husband, Andrea and Mikel Myers of Elk Grove; his three grandchildren of Elk Grove; his, brother, Clarence; his sister, Patricia both of Taft; his brothers-in-law, Cliff Lander and his wife, Kathy of Sacramento and Curtis Lander of Paso Robles; his sister-in-law, Carol Lander and her son, Jacob Lander both of Sacramento and many nephews. No visitation hours are scheduled. Immediately following the service there will be a reception held at OT Cookhouse located at 205 N. 10th Street.
