Orbin Henry Yates, (Sonny), Long time resident of Tupman, CA passed away due to natural causes on December 2nd, 2024, at the age of 84. Orbin was born in Tulare, Ca on Jan. 10th, 1940. His parents, Orbin Chester and Margret Faye Yates were traveling farm workers from Clarksville, Arkansas. In 1952, his parents decided to stay in California, so they purchased a house in Tupman, CA not far from Buttonwillow.
Orbin Yates was proceeded in death by his parents, Orbin and Faye Yates, Brothers; Chester, Gorden, Gail Ray and Mark Yates: children, Rodney, Laura and son in law Frank and grandson little Rodney.
Orbin was an entrepreneur and founded many businesses. After working many years as a millwrite. He started the Industrial Mechanical business, Yates Brothers Mechanical. He also started a truck driving business and worked in Indonesia as a consultant establishing gas plants from the ground up. In addition Orbin built many homes in the Tupman area and beyond.
Orbin Henry Yates is survived by wife of 62 years, Joan Loretta Yates.
Children; Randy, Barbara, JoAnn and son in law Don.
Grandchildren; Candice, Jessica, Holly, Jerry and wife Jessica, Josh, Carolyn and husband Adam, Stephanie and husband Shane, Ryan and wife Sondra, Daniel and wife Megan, Airica and husband Todd, Destiny and husband Vinny, Robin and husband David, Mckell and wife Katie.
Great Grandchildren: Chane, Axyl, Zayne, Jonathan, Josh, Jaclyn, Hayley and husband Nick, Jaxon, Lainey, Luke, Leora, Colin, Nyla, Wyatt, Rylee, Trenton Aiden, Addison, David, Savanna, Xylandra, Paige,Chason, Cali, Colt, Chase, Corbin, Charlotte, Waylon, Maelynn, Kyndall, kahlan, Kolby, Klayton Henry, Elizabeth, Emma, Evie, Mckell, Grayson, Scarlett.

Orbin, Patriarch of the family, loved his family more than all else on earth and would often say “family is the most important thing.”
The viewing is scheduled Tuesday December 10, 1 to 3 p.m. In Taft California, at Erickson and Brown Funeral home.
Graveside service scheduled Wednesday December 11, West side Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
