Obituary

Patricia Ann Hudson
December 5, 1930 to December 9, 2021

Patricia Ann Hudson passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2021, at the age of 91 in Fort Worth, Texas. Pat was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses: Mark and Min Hudson of Chonburi, Thailand; John and Tracy Hudson of Burlington, Kansas; and David and Cynthia Hudson of Euless, Texas.

Her six grandchildren are Jessika Hedhli, Kimberly Bergantzel, Angeline Holmes, Scott Hudson, Harmony Jackson, and Melody Hudson. Her ten great-grandchildren are Makaio Hedhli, Elizabeth Hedhli, Jonathan Hudson, Maylie Hudson, Blake Donaldson, Aaron Bergantzel, Samuel Bergantzel, Lorelai Holmes, Kellan Holmes, and Kailani Holmes.
In heaven, she has joined her husband of 58 years, Orville Hudson who passed away in 2008 in Fellows, California.

Patricia was born Grace Patricia Ann Stewart in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was number 11 of 12 children born to Claborn and Pearl Stewart and is survived by two sisters, Patsy Sherman of Dundee, OR, and Barbara Kottke of Torrance, CA.

She attended Hulbert High School in Hubert, OK, and later moved to Oregon where she married Orville in 1949 soon after he got out of the U.S Coast Guard. They made their home in the Portland, Oregon area where they had their three sons, then moved to Fellows, CA In 1961 for better job opportunities, and lived there until 2008. The Hudson family was active in Midway School, Taft High School, the First Baptist Church of Taft, and later Freewill Baptist Church.

Pat and Orville celebrated their 25th anniversary at a surprise party in Bill and Rita Kelly’s home and celebrated their 50th anniversary surrounded by family at Jo’s restaurant in Taft.

Pat was a full-time mother, cook, cleaner, nurse, chauffeur, tutor, and guidance counselor for her three sons yet still found some time to enjoy some bowling at the Taft Rec Center back when they had to set their own pins. After her sons joined the military, she worked at the Fellows Post Office for a few years. When Orville retired, they took to the road in their 5th wheel motor home and crisscrossed the US a few times hitting almost every state, plus pulled it up to Alaska for some King River salmon fishing!

Pat loved the Lord and when asked which apartment she lived in at Heritage Village in Hurst, TX, where she resided for the past few years, she was quick to say John 3:16 with pride and conviction! She was known there as Trish, and always made friends quickly. She was remembered fondly for her infectious smile, positive attitude, and telling everyone she met how good the Lord has been in her life, even when she was not feeling well or in pain.

Each morning she sat in her devotional chair, read through four devotional books, read her Bible, then prayed through her extensive prayer list of every family member she knew plus friends in need of prayer. May God continue to bless each of the lives she so lovingly touched.

Pat, sister, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend is greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. We know that she is celebrating in Heaven, reunited with Orville and her loved ones who have gone before her. She is no longer in pain or suffering and has a new, heavenly body in which to praise and worship the Lord God Almighty. We look forward to the day when we will see you again.

The next time you order a Hawaiian pizza, have a Dr Pepper with it and think of Pat. That was her favorite meal!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16
