Patsy Glendening Obituary

Patsy "Pat" Ruth Glendening, age 73, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016, at Keck Medical Center of USC in Los Angeles, California. She was born October 26, 1942, in Delano, California, to Woodrow and Orlene (Rowland) Davis and was one of seven children. She attended Taft area schools as a child, graduating from Taft Union High School. Pat was a life-long resident of Taft where she worked as a secretary for thirty years for Shell Oil Company and Wackenhut before retiring to do what she loved the most, being with family and spending lots of time with her grandchildren. Pat had a passion for reading, vintage movies, and art. She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Orlene, her brother Johnie Davis, and her nephew Richard Beard. She is survived by her two brothers, Howard and his wife Debbie, William and his wife Linda; her three sisters, Sue Anderson, Charlotte Luther and her husband Wayne, Georgia Havens and her husband Fritz; her three children, Tracy Hackler and her husband Gary, Donald Glendening and his wife Leann, Kerri Walker and her husband Chester; her six grandchildren, Nicolas Hackler, Brandon Hackler and his wife Darcy, Courtney Gafford and her husband Bobby, Clayton Glendening, Adam Walker, Austin Walker and his wife Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Carson Hackler and Keagan Hackler; and numerous nieces and nephews. You will always be remembered for being a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and memaw. Your lessons about life in always being true to just be you, to always stand strong, and to always love with an undying passion will never be forgotten by many. We love you and we will miss you with all our hearts but know you will always be with each of us in our hearts forever. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the West Side District Cemetery, 440 E. Cedar Street, Taft, California. There are no visitation hours scheduled.
