Richard K Moreno

Richard K Moreno passed peacefully at home on September 8, 2016 at 73. He was born at home in Shandon, CA in April, 1943. He was also known as Husband, Daddy, Pappy, Buckshot and Magoo. He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; daughter, Jackie (Jeff Latiolais); grandchildren, JT and Jasmine, and Nicky Williams; great-grandchildren, Kayton, James and Scarlett. He proudly served 21 years in the U.S. Army which included two tours of duty in Vietnam. He drove truck for many years seeing the country he proudly protected. He was known to love practical jokes and his BBQs/parties. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016, at 9:15 a.m. at the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin. Viewing will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Taft Moose Lodge. Everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Associated Veterans of Bakersfield Honor Guard, 1120 Golden State Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301 and would be greatly appreciated.
