Robert Matthews

A memorial service will be held for long time Taft resident Robert "Bud" Matthews at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home on Friday, October 8th at 11:00 AM.

Robert was a great friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand to all who needed it. He was especially fond of children and “adopted” many children and teenagers over the years, offering advice and guidance. A real life “Kid Whisperer” he was able to form a close bond with all children he came in contact with. He and Charla were also volunteers with Maricopa commodities, delivering food and other necessities to the community for the past 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Dorothy Matthews, His siblings Billy, James, Gwendolyn, Terry and Sheila Jo.

Robert is survived by his wife Charla; Daughters Eursla Wolfe, Pam Gilmore (Brian) and Emerald Rogers (David); Grandchildren Elizabeth Fell and family, Dakota Worthy and family, Payne West, Daniel Gilmore, Cheyenne Harness, Austin Rogers, Madison Rogers, Khailyn Rogers, Abby Rogers, Della Rogers and bonus Grandson Matt Letterman; Six Great-grandchildren; Sisters Anne, Dorothy, Patricia and Vivian; Brothers Butch, Clark and Ronnie Matthews.
