Ruth Alice Gray was born Ruth Alice Reinhardt on April 17th, 1935 in Bakersfield, CA to John and Gladys Reinhardt and moved to Taft when she was 5 years-old. Ruth loved to paint oils, acrylics, also sewing and most crafts. She even had some paintings in the newspaper! She also won numerous awards at the Kern County Fair for ceramics and other crafts.
Ruth belonged to many clubs. Those including the Rock Club, The Art Association and she worked her way up to President of Desk and Derrick.
Ruth had a very strong relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, attending many churches, those including: Baptist, Peace Lutheran, and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Ruth also enjoyed selling Avon, making life long friends, meeting the love of her life, Harold Gray, and being a mom to mark Steven Gray and Julie Cloud.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father John and mother Gladys Reinhardt, sister Wilma Jean Moore, Virginia Mae Poole. Also, Mike Mayfield Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Julie Cloud and her children Heather, Corby Gray and Ricky Cloud. Her son Mark and daughter-in-law Paula Gray and their sons Ricky Holt and Parker Crouse and great-granddaughter Caroline Tracy. Her nephew Michael Mayfield and wife Courtney and their son Connor. Her great niece Amber, 3 nephews and 4 great-great-grandchildren and cousins Barbara Richards and Bob Houk.
A special thank you to Anna Telmo, Chona, and Mark and to all the caregivers at Summer Springs Bed and Care who made mom’s last days so comfortable.
