Thomas Earl Barnett

Thomas Earl Barnett, 78, of Taft, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024.

Tom is our beloved husband, father, Papaw, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend.  He was a graduate of Watsonville High School. Tom had an infectious personality; he loved to laugh and joke.  Tom was affectionate and loved hugs.  Everyone was his family; he didn’t know a stranger, which was proven during family get-togethers where he welcomed everyone; and he loved children.  He was famous for his yard, spic and span pool, and pristine lawn.  He was a Godly man and devoted his extra time to his church, Taft Church of Christ.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Millie Barnett, his brother Ron Barnett, and his son-in-law, Mike Clark.  He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Don & Jane Barnett; Sweetheart of 36 years, Cathy Barnett; and his children and their spouses: Pamm Clark, Nancy & Jim Mainard, Kevin & Wendy Barnett, Lanissa & Brian Sharp, Traci & Jeremy Elom; 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

The family would like to thank Wendy Barnett for her help, and Larry Dyer, who was Tom’s neighbor and best friend.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 19th at 10:00 AM at Westside Cemetery, 440 E Cedar St, Taft, CA.
