William Eugene "Bill" Canida

A graveside funeral service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. for William Eugene "Bill" Canida, 64. Rev. Tom White, pastor of Cuyama Assembly of God, will officiate. Bill was born in Dinuba, CA on July 9, 1951 and passed away in Bakersfield, CA on April 6, 2016. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973. From 1986 to 2013 he was employed with Gene Watson Construction and from 2013 to 2015 with Total Western, Inc. He enjoyed his membership in the VFW Post 11012. His interests included playing Xbox and games on Facebook. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Canida and his mother, Lillie Abney Canida. Bill is survived by his wife, Frances E. Canida; his son, Ernest (Gene) Lindsey; his daughter, Tina Canida; grandson, Derrick Lindsey; sister and her family, Nancy and Joe Weninger, Jeff and Jenny Weninger and Joey and Ashlyn; and many other family and friends. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
